    Dennis Dooley

    Hi all,

I have not posted for a while now, so I thought I would share this with fellow members.

I just listened to Allen Mathews in this video talking about how to interact with an audience. What do you talk about and how do you say it? This is wonderful advice, in my opinion.

Another area my piano teacher coaches her students is taking a bow at the end of our performance. This is something that has to be rehearsed just like practicing your speaking ideas and, of course, your music. As my teacher indicates, playing for people is a priviledge and we have to acknowledge this priviledge. Bowing comme il faut or in accordance with the music and the audience is showing respect for the audience.

I hope you will find this interesting and perhaps this may come in useful some day.

    Happy music making!
